Don’t Hide From Aodh O’Donnell’s Armadillo Chair
8:39 AM
Aodh O’Donnell’s sublime Armadillo Chair reminds me of Ryan Dart’s Quarry table—from an aesthetic as well as conceptual perspective. Both Dart and O’Donnell have structured their unique pieces around a look created by the timeless process of evolution: in the case of Quarry, the epochal play of water and wind on rock; and in the case of Armadillo, the millions of years of mutation and selection that manifests today in the digging, burrowing, and curiously armor-plated little creatures called armadillos.

Gervasoni Sweet 21 by Paola Navone
11:28 PMThe whole poetic universe of Paola Navone is revealed in the new Gervasoni collection. The spirit of eclecticism, the pleasure of intermingling, the instinct to let loose one's imagination without limit of space and time.
The various areas represented by the Gervasoni stand open onto one another, creating a uniquely fluid and permeable space: living-room area, an eating area and a sleeping area in which the new pieces designed by Paola Navone blend into a spontaneous game of cross-reference and suggestion.
Each piece - articles of furniture, sofas, armchairs, tables, chairs and mirrors - tells its own story in its own language. Their blending stimulates the beauty of counterpoint, of life itself superimposed over things. The new and rich collection is known as the Sweet collection. Included in the collection are articles inspired by different "worlds", by artisan knowledge going back to ancient tradition and accommodated by the modern and instinctively curious eye of Paola Navone.
Traditional and modern materials - wood, marble, pressed bamboo, rattan, but also rubber and cement - are brought together with a sensitive and masterly touch and coloured in white, blue, grey to create a refined harmony of contrasts. We have a series of tables for the dining area, with frame and legs in tinted oak and top in cement or Carrara marble. The products come in three sizes: rectangular 260 x 100 and 210 x 100, and square 160 x 160. To accompany the tables is a chair in walnut canaletto wood with a curved wooden back and a seat of interwoven rubber or taut reinforced fabric.

VONDOM Moma Low by Javier Mariscal
11:27 PMThe collection MOMA, designed by Javier Mariscal for the Spanish brand VONDOM, is a series of objects for outdoor. It was decided to do a new typology of furniture to unite the function of a flowerpot and an outdoor table, thus MOMA was born, a collection characterizes for its versatility and originality. From the question ¿how do we sit down? Came up three versions that could be adapted to three different environments: one for chill-out, Low, completed with an pouf of great comfort of the same collection; another for use it seated in a chair or a seat, Medium, and another to be reached by feet or seated on a stool, High, thinking about the pleasure of enjoying a cup of wine outdoor.
The first sketches presented organic shapes that in the development of the project they were deriving toward more architectural forms that recall to a column with capital or to a corbel. There has a hole with function of flowerpot with self-watering system patented by VONDOM in the supporting surface.
They are manufactured by the technological process of rotational molding with ecological material of resin of polyethylene, in great variety of bright shades, what gives an more original and fresh touch to the collection.
